New man ... new books!

New man ... new books!

A brief note about a new novel: "Psycho-Gehenna" or

"Mind-Hell" by Brian M.W

The book that I have written is nothing but a story; a piece of fiction that was pulled from the deeper recesses of my mind in order to put to words the gist of a wandering idea. When I first started writing this novel, I only wanted to create something different, something unique that I could offer to the masses. However, as time went by, as page after page began to become more than just a brief notion that had passed through my brain, I began to comprehend a possible truth that was buried deep inside of a hidden theory. Remember the song by John Lennon, "What if God was one of us?" Well, how about another scenario: What if we were one of God? What if the face that God had given to us today was not the final form of man, and we would not truly mirror the face of God until after a million millennia of what scientists choose to call evolution. It is a known fact that we only utilize ten percent of our brain right now. Maybe a little bit more is used by others every day but not much. It is also already known that all of the lower species on this planet have evolved from some other state of being, and that they are still evolving as I write this essay. Who is man to think that he is above evolution? What kind of delusion of grandeur brought us to the conclusion that a special being (who we call God) created us in his image so that we could rule the Earth? The Bible spawned this ideal, but I say that our thoughts on the subject are incomplete. I am not an atheist. There is a God, but not everything that we have been told is as it seems. There is more to this story, and I am unwilling to wait until I die in order to figure it out. I believe that mankind is evolving. I believe that it was in God's plan for that to happen. In the beginning, we were nave pets of the Lord whom he had great hopes and aspirations for; He wanted us to one day become something more. He did not want us to eat from the Tree of Knowledge in the Garden of Eden because knowledge is power. In the wrong hands (as we have proven to ourselves time and time again), it can be dangerous.

People think that nuclear warheads are a potential disaster waiting to happen. Well, imagine if you had the powers of a God. Imagine what type of infinite destruction that you could create if you only had to think and then it would happen. It is quite possible that we were more than just better than God's Angels. Their jealousy of us was spawned by much more than God's apparent favor of mankind over them. His choice to give us a soul meant that we would live forever, however, it would be within another state at some point; something that was more like an ethereal form of energy than anything else (hence, the term Ghost). People on this planet who utilize a higher form of brain mass than others have been found to do extraordinary things. Even the little people can find superhuman strength if need be; like the well documented cases of a mother lifting a car from off of their child in order to save its life. Jesus Christ was said to have walked on water. Don't you think that if you used 100% of your brainpower that you could walk on water, too? Or maybe, you could fly. The full potential of the human mind has barely been tapped into. This is one of the reasons that psychics and witches have been called heretics and burned at the stake over the centuries. Some of the souls on this planet do not want mankind to ever even imagine what we are capable of; because if we ever realized that that power even actually existed, we might explore the possibilities of it. We might become more than what we are, too soon. Hell, that could mean the end of the world. The men and women who control the Vatican might have a lot more knowledge about what has come to pass, and what will, than we may ever be allowed to know.

We are definitely not ready, as a species, to realize the gift of ultimate power. We would destroy ourselves and all that God has created. But one day we will be ready. And I, for one, cannot wait until that day comes.

What Psycho-Gehenna is about ...

What Psycho-Gehenna is about ...

Basic Outline of "Psycho-Gehenna"

(The first installment of a trilogy.)

THE CHARACTERS

Jonathan Dorn: Mitchell's father and unwitting co-producer of the next evolutionary step of man.

Susan Dorn: Jonathan's wife and mother of his two children, Bruce and Mitchell Dorn. She has a small part to play in the overall big picture.

Bruce Dorn: First-born son of his parents who has latent psychic powers that he had inherited from the union of his mother and father.

Mitchell Kenneth Dorn: Second-born son of the Dorn family who represents mankind's future. He and others like him will help to determine how one's very existence will come to pass tomorrow.

Joseph Z. Darique: A close friend of Bruce who does not realize just how closely that they are linked. He is another human being who has unknowingly evolved a few millennia and who possesses the potential for unlimited power.

Liza Durch: Bruce's secret girlfriend. She is a participant in what will eventually turn out to be a battle for the future of everything that exists and/or that could every hope to be.

Gary Fate: A detective investigating a mysterious plane crash that Jonathan and his son Mitchell were involved in.  He helps to bring to light certain aspects of the story while he earnestly seeks to uncover the truth behind an enigma that continues to rattle his mind.

John Marks: The reluctant partner (and later confidant) of Gary Fate who becomes caught up in the struggle to learn the truth about the series of tragic events that seems to be plaguing the Dorn family. He wants only to solve the mystery and to rid himself of detective Fate's company.

Rachel Sarin: A provocative secretary from the law firm of Bridge and Arter who really has a lot more to do with everything than one could possibly guess at first.

Adam One (The Outworlder): A being who is hopelessly confined within a device of ingenious creation. He (or it) is the undiscovered nemesis of the multi-member protagonists who make up the entire cast of characters.

The Outline

   A: The Birth

(1)   The first building block in the creation of three of the novel's main characters. It is the setup for the underlying plot which later explains just why Jonathan Dorn is having nightmares and who the Angelic being of his dreams really is

   B: The Book

(2)   Proper introductions are made to the antagonist of the novel in Chapter Two (subtitled, "The Book"). It also starts the ball rolling in the creation of the mystery portion of the book. Choice bits of information are given to the reader so that what will eventually become their inquiry of the plot can begin to be satisfied.

   C: Nuances

(3)   People die, the plot thickens, and slight changes begin to open up the realm to new possibilities for some of the main characters. The prospect of a serial killer is introduced to the story, but only for the sake of creating more concern for the reader as to where this all comes into play. A lot of information is given within this chapter about these people's lives. It also hints at the fact that all of their worlds are beginning to fall apart slowly but surely. No one dies without reason, however, and the story must live on even with the loss of someone who was not necessarily a key player.

   D: Questions

(4)   This is where a lot of what by now are the reader's querying thoughts start to get answered; however, with every struggling moment that leads up to their desired knowledge, there is only the input of a scene that is a prelude to more of their wonderment; like when Joseph Z. Darique discovers that he is just a little bit different than the average human being. Key players who will later divulge certain aspects of the forthcoming mystery are introduced to the story line. Detective Gary Fate, for instance, finds that he has bitten off a little more than he can chew when he finds himself dealing with Jonathan Dorn's infectious personality.

   E: Answers

(5)   A lot is explained about the purpose of everything here while also properly introducing the Angelic being which occupies the dreamscape of Jonathan's (and what has now become Mitch's) mind. Sometimes the wait for the mystery to be solved is not worth it; so this part of the story solves itself while creating a few new mini mysteries that are spawned from the remnants of old ones.

   F: The Coming

(6)   There is a total disclosure about who (or what) the Angelic being of Jonathan and Mitchell's dreams is. The creature's total track record of its birth and the purpose of its existence are revealed. This is where the scientific portion of the novel kicks in. The protagonists of this story are informed of the coming of a lot more than just enlightenment in the near future but also power. As before in the novel, there is a hint at the fact that with all of the possibilities that are spoken of within the previous chapters (about why mankind was possibly created) there could actually be enough room within man's philosophies on existence for God and evolution. This is the end of the final setup scene. Almost all of the pieces of the plot are laid out, and the fast-paced trek to the conclusion has begun.

   G: Pursuit

(7)   There is a manhunt going on for someone who detective John Marks has deemed to be a suspect in a murder. A murder that was necessary in order for things to move along in a direction that would be fitting to one being's idea of a perfect ending.

   H: Capture

(8)   The killer is caught, and the last of the main characters that would hope to make it to the end discovers the true meaning of the word evolution; as well as his or her own destiny.

   I: Assembly

(9)   In chapter nine, everyone who is anyone in the story decides to get together because now it has become time for the real battle to begin. The characters do not know much yet as far as what is really happening to them; all that they know is that something has to be done about it. Their common enemy has to be confronted.

   J: Release

(10)           The antagonist is released from its prison, and the final answers to every conceivable question are revealed to the reader. The endgame has begun.

   K: The Arrival

(11)           The last key player in the story line arrives on the scene while being ready to see that all of this comes to a proper closure. Fierce battles have already taken place in the preceding chapters, and the aftermath of this has led the surviving characters to the beginnings of a climatic moment; one that will bring them total understanding as well as salvation.

   L: Loose Ends

(12)           This is the final chapter of the novel. No more questions are asked because all is known. The realization of the antagonist's true purpose in their lives is within all of their grasps if they can just live it out. The conclusion is a twenty-five-page war that the reader should find to be well worth the wait. "The end is only the beginning," and from it who knows what will be left at the end of the road.

Author Bio

My name is Brian M. Worley (Brian M.W.); I have been writing ever since I was six years old, and now, it is finally time for me to share something with the masses. I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in a part of the city called Mt. Airy. A lot of the experiences that I had growing up seems to have manifested within the hearts and minds of my characters. Most of the people that I create in my novels are loosely based off of people that I know (even myself sometimes) which makes what they might be thinking, at any given time, appear to be more real; simply because the person that they are based on would have thought that way. A lot of "Psycho-Gehenna" began as pure fiction, but I believe that there is some truth to it in the end. And "H.O.T.E.L." is a suspense thriller that came to me in a nightmare that I had once while returning from a life-changing endeavor in Swansea, South Carolina. My harrowed past has thankfully led me toward a bright future, and despite my many hardships (like literally getting stabbed in the back by my best friend and experiencing death, up close and personal, for the first time) I wouldn't have had it any other way. I did it my way! For now ... and forever....
